Locksmith Jávea Call 24h on +34 678 583 290

Emergency locksmith Jávea, picking up the phone at any hour

Shut out of a villa in Tosalet, keys lost on the way back from the port, a key snapped in the cylinder of an Arenal flat, or a lock that has seized and will not turn. Ring, say where you are, and you will hear how long the drive is before anyone sets off.

Answered in English and Spanish, day and night, weekends and fiestas included.

Locked out in Jávea: what to say first

The quickest call is the one that answers three things at once: where the door is, what kind of door it is, and what happened. In Xàbia the first one matters most, because so much of the town is urbanisations on hillsides where streets look alike after dark.

  • The urbanisation and the street, or for a flat, the block, the portal and the floor.
  • Something you can see from the gate: a house name, a gate colour, a bend in the road.
  • A WhatsApp location pin sent from where you are standing, if your phone has signal.
  • A photo of the lock, if you can take one. It often tells how the door will be opened.

Three things that change the trip in Xàbia

  • From mid-June the roads to the Granadella and Portitxol coves have council barriers and paid parking. Say if your house is beyond one. More on the summer barriers.
  • On Thursday mornings the market fills Plaça de la Constitució and the streets beside it, in the old town.
  • In July the Moros i Cristians are held in Duanes de la Mar, with a parade and a night mascletà from la Grava.

Four steps between the ring and the open door

The order is the same at three in the afternoon and three in the morning. Most lockouts end with the door opened through the latch or the cylinder; how that is done for each kind of door is on the door opening page.

  1. The phone is answered

You explain where you are and what happened, in English or Spanish.

  2. You hear the honest drive time

An estimate for your address and the hour, not a promise of minutes.

  3. Proof and price at the door

You show you live or are staying there, and hear the price before any work.

  4. Open, then check it locks

The door is opened, and you try the lock before the locksmith leaves.

Lost keys, a snapped key, a lock that will not turn

Keys lost

Opening the door solves tonight. Whether the cylinder should then be changed depends on where the keys went: dropped in the sea at la Grava is one thing, a bag taken with your address inside it is another. If anyone could know which door those keys open, change the cylinder; that is booked work, covered on the lock change page.

A key snapped in the cylinder

Do not try to pull the piece out with tweezers. It is extracted with thin tools, and if the pins are damaged a new cylinder goes in on the same visit, so you are not left with a door that only half locks.

A lock that has seized

More than half the homes in Xàbia are not anyone’s main residence (14,997 of 26,817 in the 2021 census), and a lock left unturned for a winter can stiffen. Do not force the key: a key bent in a seized cylinder turns a stiff lock into a broken one.

A door that was forced, or slipped

If you come home to a door that has been opened without your key, ring the Guardia Civil first, and then a locksmith to make it lock tonight. In 2025 a run of 84 break-ins in Xàbia was put down to doors pulled shut but not locked: how that trick works, and what a repair after a break-in involves.

Answering at any hour is not the same as arriving in ten minutes

The business is reachable 24 hours a day. That does not mean a van is parked round the corner from every door in a municipality of almost 70 km², from the Montgó to Cap de la Nau, with Benitatxell, Moraira, Gata, La Xara, Jesús Pobre and Dénia beyond. So no time is promised on this site. On the phone you hear a real estimate for your address and the hour; the urbanisations and towns page shows how far the area runs.

Locked out of the car rather than the house? That is a separate service: opening a locked car.

Questions people ask from the doorstep

Is somebody really there at four in the morning?

The phone is answered at any hour, every day of the year, including Sundays and fiesta days. What changes at night is the drive, and you are told honestly how long that will be before anyone sets off.

The key has snapped and half of it is still in the lock. Should I try to pull it out?

Leave it. Tweezers and pliers usually push the broken piece deeper or bend the pins. The piece is drawn out with thin extractors, and if the cylinder is damaged a new one is fitted on the same visit.

I am renting the villa and the owner is in another country. Can you still open it?

Yes, once it is clear you are staying there: the booking, a message from the owner or the manager, or your passport matched to the rental. The owner can confirm by WhatsApp while the locksmith is at the door.

What does an emergency call-out cost?

It depends on the door, the lock and the hour, so no figure is given before the door has been seen. Once it has, you hear the price and the work starts only if you agree. Payment by cash, card or Bizum.

Standing outside your own door in Xàbia right now?

Ring and say where you are. If you can, send a WhatsApp location pin from the gate.
